The Queensland Camellia Society hold meetings at various venues throughout the Camellia season between March and October.  Members are encouraged to bring their camellia blooms to meetings. A newsletter is published monthly during the Camellia season.  Culture Books are available for $5.00 or $6.00 posted.

21st May - Darryl & Steph Baptie’s residence - Camellia Glen, 52 McKays Lane, Palmwoods. UBD - Sunshine Coast Map 76,  G8. Bloom competition. 10.00 - 10.30 a.m. tabling of blooms. Morning Tea. Plants available for sale, wander the garden. 11.00 a.m. Bloom Judging and start meeting. Lunch - BYO. Garden walk and plant sales. Committee Meeting - 2.00 p.m. BYO lunch, chair & mug. Please bring a plate to share - fruit, bikkies, cake, sandwiches, chocolates……...

25th June - Annual Show - Albion Peace Hall, 106 McDonald Rd Windsor. UBD Map 140 C15 Set-up will be on the 24th and open to the public on the 25th June between 9am and 3pm. Talks 9.45am and 1pm. The event features information and advice. We are also having a Bloom Competition, Ikebana and other flower arrangements, Plant Sales & Raffles. Entry $3.00 - children free.  Free entry to members. Culture Books available for $5.00 or $6.00 posted. Light refreshments available. 

There are three ways to get to Peace Hall – you choose!  

1.    Albion Railway Station is a few minutes walk away.

2.   From Lutwyche Road  –  turn left or right into Albion Road Get in the left lane near the bottom of the hill before the rise to go over the overpass: Left into a small offshoot – the sign says “to McDonald Road”. Right into McDonald Road. Peace Hall is about 50mtrs. down on the right.   

3.    From Sandgate Road turn either right/left into Albion Road and after going over the overpass turn: Left into Lane Street, Left into Blackmore, Left into McDonald Road

International Camellia Society - February 2016

 Every 2 years, the International Camellia Society holds its annual congress. The event is an opportunity for the organisation's global membership to meet up, enjoy the culture of the host country and learn about the many research projects which our members undertake each year. Our hosts for 2016 is the city of Dali, China. 23rd-28th February. http://english.camelliadali.com/

1pm to 1.45pm  Talk by Lynette Shailer - Caring for Camellias - mulching, fertilising, disbudding, pruning, watering established plants.                        

2.15pm to 3pm  Talk by David Newlands - Camellia “issues”- problems you may encounter.

3pm to 3.30pm  Plant Sales and close of workshop
